‘Everyone’s going to be together’: Mayor Scott, business leaders and squeegee workers hold meeting to develop solutions

BALTIMORE — Mayor Brandon Scott on Thursday convened a meeting of business enterprise proprietors, metropolis leaders and squeegee personnel, hoping to obtain remedies for the window washers.

Scott claimed squeegee employees have been an problem for many years, but what is new this time is that all the stakeholders are coming to the desk. 

“This is about Baltimore –Baltimore failing to deal with this issue, from a federal government standpoint, from a business standpoint, group standpoint, everyone has unsuccessful to tackle this concern,” he said.

Town Councilman Kristerfer Burnett, who was in the conference, mentioned about 50 individuals, which includes some squeegee personnel, had been current and attendees talked over transitioning window washers into positions and how to continue to keep both equally younger people today and motorists harmless.

Scott reported stakeholders will keep a conversation with squeegee staff “about why they were out there, what occurs when they go out there, what factors led to them remaining out there.”
