Another Russian general killed amid invasion, Russian official says

The governor of St. Petersburg verified that a further Russian typical has been killed amid the invasion of Ukraine, honoring him in a ceremony on Saturday, Russian media described.

The deputy commander of the 8th Military, Maj. Gen. Vladimir Petrovich Frolov, died while combating in opposition to Ukraine, a Russian news stores described, citing St. Petersburg’s administration’s press service.

“Today we say goodbye to a authentic hero. Vladimir Petrovich Frolov died a heroic dying in battle with Ukrainian nationalists,” Gov. Alexander Beglov explained, Russian state information agency Tass documented, citing the press services. 

“He sacrificed his life so that children, gals and the elderly in the Donbas would no longer hear bomb explosions. To end waiting around for dying and leaving home, to say goodbye as if it had been the past time.”

The governor referred to as Frolov a “true patriot” and “brave,” adding he “fulfilled his army and human responsibility,” in accordance to St. Petersburg on the web newspaper Fontanka.

Various other Russian generals and top armed service staff have reportedly been killed in Russia’s ongoing invasion of its neighbor, like deputy commander of the 41st Put together Arms Army of the Central Army District Andrei Sukhovetsky, Maj. Gen. Vitaly Gerasimov, Lt. Gen Yakov Rezantsev, and Col. Sergei Sukharev, commander of the elite 331st Guards Airborne Regiment.

Russia, unsuccessful in its first tries to capture Kyiv, is now readying by itself for a renewed offensive in Ukraine’s japanese Donbas area. 

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned in an interview with Ukrainian media that negotiations in between Russia and Ukraine could sunset if Russia kills the remaining Ukrainian forces in Mariupol.
