It is hoped the BID will foster additional advancement and financial investment in the district by opening another revenue stream for the betterment of the region. The action product, which the town council will vote on Tuesday, was introduced by District 1 consultant Christina Valdivia Alcala.
According to Thomas Underwood, the NOTO arts district executive director, establishing a BID is an “equitable” follow exactly where all enterprises contribute to desires and companies not delivered by the metropolis.
“The BID is equitable in that all organizations are questioned to lead,” he reported. “As new companies go in to the spot they as well will add to the servicing and betterment of the space.”

In accordance to the ordinance, firms will be envisioned to shell out a service payment that scales with dimension of the enterprise and spot. There are two tiers of company specified in the ordinance, and funds gathered from the support charge will be used for routine maintenance, safety and stability and advertising according to Underwood.
“The business enhancement district is an prospect for all businesses in NOTO to equitably add to the upkeep and betterment of the area,” Underwood mentioned.
Topeka by now has two BIDs: The downtown BID and the tourism BID. The downtown BID is designed up of a few “cores” and addresses a large area that incorporates most of central Topeka.
The Tourism BID will not have any distinct boundaries, as an alternative charging a $1 per night time, for every room cost on resort bills. Revenue gathered from the Tourism BID goes to tourism related activities in accordance to the City’s webpage.
